I’ve shown short reels from evangelist J. John. I want to summarize another one for you. You can watch it on YouTube at the following link: www.youtube.com/shorts/gBDldMDe-nU
While he was speaking for about two weeks at Cambridge University, he would frequent a coffee shop. He decided to invite the lady running the coffee shop to come to the meeting. At first, she said, “No, I’m not interested.” He said, “Well, come anyway.” She said, “No, no, I don’t really believe it.” He said, “Well, come anyway.” She said, “No, I’m really busy, I’m running the coffee shop.” He said, “Well, come anyway.” She said, “I don’t want to come.” He said, “Well, come anyway.” She said, “I’m not coming.” He said, “Well, come anyway.” The rest of the story was that eventually she came to a meeting, and the Holy Spirit convicted her, and she became a Christ follower. The next “rest of the story” was that eventually J. John married her.
The point is, we need to invite people and not give up on inviting people.
John 1.44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida. Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip. In light of the story by J. John, we see Nathaneal saying to Philip, “I don’t want to go. Nothing good comes out of that backward town of Nazareth.” And Philip said, “Come anyway!” Nathanael went and saw and became a Christ follower.
Our job is to invite people to come! It is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict them and save them. Then it is our job to help them grow as disciples of Christ.
We are approaching two special seasons, Thanksgiving and Christmas, in which many people are more open to Christian spiritual things. And there are some ministry activities that you can invite them to.
November 27 at 6:30 PM – Thanksgiving Eve service at our church with Pastor Zach from St. Paul’s Red Run preaching

December 6 at 5:30 PM – Pizza supper and Movie, “The Star.” This is an animated movie and is Dove Approved for “Kids” for 1 to 99. The movie will start around 6:10.

December 24 – Christmas Eve Celebrations – At 5 PM the celebration will be here in our sanctuary. At 7 PM and 10 PM, we will gather at the Altland Meeting House.

Let’s invite our family and friends to come with us. And even if they give excuses, tell them, “Well, come anyway.”
