Held twice a year in our Church Family, on the first Sundays of May and October.

· Brethren historian, Dale Brown,

“The Love Feast, historically, has been the high point of Brethren worship.”

The Love Feast remembers the last evening of Jesus’ life with His disciples in the Upper Room. Traditionally, for Brethren, the service is shared in four parts according to Scriptural promptings.

1.  The Preparation or Examination Service

I Corinthians 11:27-32

2.  The Service of Feet washing

John 13:1-17

3.  The Lord’s Supper or Agape Meal

Luke 22:14-16 Revelation 19:9

4.  The Service of Holy Communion

I Corinthians 11:23-26

Sharing in the Love Feast is so important to our living out and understanding what it means to be Brethren, and more importantly, what it

means to be a follower of Jesus Christ!  We urge every Brother & Sister to do whatever necessary to be able to attend our Love Feasts, even if it means changing other plans!  Please mark your calendar now for the first Sunday in May and October, and plan to be with the Family of Faith.

I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.  Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

John 13:15-17

We promise you two very special evenings of worship, praise, singing and fellowship.

Years ago in preparation for each Love Feast, the Deacons visited each member to ask three important questions.  These questions are still worthy of our consideration today.

                 1.  Are you still in the faith of the Gospel as you declared when you were baptized?

                 2.  Are you, as far as you know, in peace and union with the church?

                 3.  Are you still willing to labor for an increase in holiness both in  yourself and others?
